The cold November wind whipped across the hills rustling the last leaves of fall from their precarious grasp on the grey trees. The wind blew across the roofs of the houses and past the barking dogs, keeping pace with the low profile Yokohama tires on my Honda Element as Jesse and I sped down Highway 18, making our way to the Destarte Bed and Breakfast  Inn. Located just past the crossroads of Highways 18 and 27, the Destarte Bed and Breakfast Inn is a gorgeous old home with a classic barn in the back, where Glenda Miller and her son Adam host all types of events.  The smell of fresh cut wood and winter warmth added to the rustic charm of Kyle and Krissy’s beautiful wedding.

Jesse and I  arrived at the barn just before the wind, but even though it was howling outside, inside the barn was warm and toasty, thanks to a paleolithic sized fire in the old fireplace, filling the entire barn with warmth and the welcoming smells of home. Mixing with the earthy scents of the fire were the tantalizing smells from Family First Catering whose home cooking exemplifies the term “Feel Good Food”!

Set in the picturesque barn and wrapped in the warmth of the fire and good smells of Family First Catering  Kyle and Krissy had a fantastic Wedding Reception surrounded by family and friends. And what a talented bunch they turned out to be. Their good friend Casey Clark not only played guitar for their ceremony, but he also serenaded the happy couple for their first dance, he blew everyone away with his graceful strumming and phenomenal singing voice.

After dinner we kicked off the dancing, and it was a great time as the family and friends of the Bride and groom danced and sang in celebration of this special day!  All the while Dana Arndt from Dana Arndt Photography snapped away, capturing all of these great moments. One highlight of the evening was when the Bride’s  Ring Bearer Heath Edwards grabbed the mic to sing “Dirt Road Anthem”, he played shy at first but once we gave him the mic, he wowed the entire crowd with his personality, style and vocal prowess.

Krissy and Kyle had a great time dancing the night away along with their relatives and friends. It was a great pleasure to be a part of such a wonderful night!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Burgin!
